JOHN TOMLINSON
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
I am a founding member and Executive Director of SBC. I manage the strategic relationships with partners and stakeholders. I believe that the arts have the power to make real social change.
Previous to my full time role with SBC, for four years I was the Producer at Sheffield Theatres, one of the UK’s most prominent producing theatres and largest complex outside of London. I led in-house productions between March 2019 - May 2023 and worked on shows including the multi award winning Life of Pi, Rock/Paper/Scissors, Accidental Death of an Anarchist and Standing at the Sky's Edge.
I am an established producer leading on large-scale community productions, community practice and talent development. I have previously worked as Producer at York Theatre Royal and as Programme Manager at Contact, Manchester. I have a First Class Media and Performance BA(Hons) from the University of Salford and am currently a Trustee for City of Sanctuary, Sheffield.
